Seedcamp-backed Twine launches marketplace for creatives
Having made headway in building out its community for creatives, Twine recently flicked the monetization switch by adding a marketplace to its wares. Culture Trip, a London-based media startup with a heavy tech bent (or is that the other way round?) has raised $20 million in Series A funding. The round is being led by the PPF Group, the fund managed by entrepreneur Petr Kellner. 
Perkbox, a U.K. startup that offers an employee engagement platform to help companies retain employees (and customers), has picked up £2.5 million in backing from publicly-listed European VC Draper Esprit. 
Its founders, including CEO Fabian Dudek, left the company in May having already lost majority ownership to Rocket Internet, while the pivot sees the company become an aggregator — or meta-search engine — for furnished apartment rentals. 
Red Sift, a new London startup from two ex-Shazamers, is building an ambitious cloud-based and developer platform that wants to enable individuals and businesses to plug in various data sources and make that data actually work for them in a meaningful way. 
Honeycomb, a TV and video ad management platform founded by James Carpenter and Richard Carter, who both previously founded Adstream, has raised £3 million in Series A funding. It follows a £1 million “friends and family” round in May this year.
