Google Translate now ‘as good as a human’ – could it save you on holiday?

Things are très bien (or, if you prefer, muy impresionante) at Google these days.

The company is just about to release a cutting-edge new smartphone and has also made big improvements to its translation app.

Like just about everything else in tech at the moment, it’s using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the Google Translate app.

In fact, Google reckons it’s now about as good as a human translator.
